Angels, Daemons, Sunglasses and Rain
i
sunglasses at night
hide your eyes from the light
the angel's sleeping
lie 'wake in the bed
one line in your head
the angel's calling
the angel opens her eyes
takes a look at the world
the angel's crying
tears fall down the rain
life with silent pain
new baptized
angel don't shut your eyes
don't look away
look away from me
you're all that i've got
when i stare at the lake
at night alone
the angel closes her eyes
she melts away
the candle's going out
and the boy cries
ii
the angel opens her eyes
alone in the dark
waiting in the rain
angel looks with new sight
at the same dark world
beneath the stars
o angel open your eyes
look and see me here
i’m of the darkness
the rain falls down
in it’s embrace
the angel holds me
angel open your eyes
can you look at me?
not yet forgive me
sometimes the angel inside
breaks down and cries
the voices tell me
without a light
i’ll wait in the night
‘til the angel calls me
iii
the angel opens her eyes
and the daemon looks out
what does she see?
somewhere deep inside
both dressed in black
the two are waiting
asleep and awake
a dream and a fear
through my head’s flying
c’mon open your eyes
angel look at the world
what do you see?
the daemon catches her breath
at the life around
and what is hiding
as i walk through the miles
with the two by my side
am i sleeping?
i tried to fall to hell
but i couldn’t go
she wouldn’t leave me
i saw the face of God
and the daemon cried out
take me from this place
trembling weeping
and the voice told me
there’s a place in your name
when you can claim it
that was my peace with the light
as I watch from the dark
my time is coming
sunglasses at night
hide your eyes from the light
the angel's sleeping
lie 'wake in the bed
one line in your head

which one?
sry, it was 3 related fragments. does it make more sense now?
it's basically a series of images strung together rythmically. most of these poems are lyrical, these fragments have a three line grouping with the first two lines together (the second line's sorta the other half to the first) and the third line to the side. if you ask me real nicely i might sing it. maybe. i can do an analysis on it if y'all really want, but i don't imagine y'all are interested in reading it. though it would be interesting to hear sorta what they mean to y'all. and yes, there are overall themes in each of them, but mostly it's feelings and images strung together on a melody
